Hello, Quickbox forums,
I was wondering if it is possible to log into X2go with the root account?
I did try this but without luck.
Any suggestions?

Same… it sucks
Hello @vinc1402
I never used it with root account. Did you check the logs?
You are free to find out how to do it
I did find a way before a fix was posted on a forum but forgot it… will find a way again…
As far as what I know (from reading the manual on X2Go) it is not permitted to use the root account. Apparently you must use a regular user and/or sudo account to access the GUI for X2Go.
A little precursor on that-- You would have to go out of your way to get X to work for “root” as a user. root does not have a home directory, so does not have an .Xauthority file. It is not impossible, but also is not suggested, especially on a server. (and not suggested to allow root to log in remotely…)
Thank you for the info about this JMSolo, I’m getting a better grip on terminal anyway. I used to reach out to X2go for folder modifications, but I got less trouble just using the command line.
Thank you for creating such an awesome script.
