Setting up plex server

Hi guys,
I just dicovered Quickbox and already love it !

Just one thing that I can’t solve. I want to finish the installation of Plex, so I set up a tunnel connection with Putty and then go to http://localhost:8888/web/

But I always have this message :

Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Apache/2.4.10 (Debian) Server at localhost Port 8888

I’m using Debian 8 64bits.

Do you have any idea about it ?

have you checked that the plexmediaserver is actually running?

Try running this command in the shell

ps aux | grep plexmediaserver

you should then see something akin to this:

[marius@tous]:(3.8Mb)~$ ps aux | grep plexmediaserver

Guys, I don’t know if it’s easier, but any time I’ve had to do this I’ve found it easier to just install x2go and use the remote desktop to open the localhost:32400/web link.

It looks like the daemon is not running. take a look at the screenshot I posted below and try that command. It should show you whether or not the daemon is loaded properly and running.

Yep, it’s not running, I get this :

Hi guys, problem solved by doing this :

Plex - "Service Unavailable" on New Install

I did notice an issue with the Dashboard installer wherein it was producing this error. Do the following and you should be golden. From ssh as sudo or better type box remove plex to remove Plex After removing Plex, now type box install plex. If it seems to freeze for a bit, just hit the ENTER key once on your keyboard and then wait for it to finish up. Ensure Plex is running by typing systemctl status plexmediaserver Following that path, you should be good to go without issue.
