New install - plex fails to start

Hi,

New install, script runs through without any issues… log into dashboard, click to install plex, eventually come back saying plex is installed, dashboard refreshes, plex is disabled so click to enable…

Plex doesn’t enable, and if i try and browse to IP:31400/web anyway, it asks for username/password but then tells me –

Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

— any ideas?

This means Plex is not running correctly you might need to set it up using our wiki first then you can use the ip:port#

i was actually a bit too hasty in posting that, found a related topic that solved it for me…

Settings not saving in Plex

I think the newer version of plex have some setup bugs. What worked for me was exiting out of the startup wizard (back to /web) go to Settings > Servers and sign in from there. You'll likely need to restart plex afterwards for it to kick in.
